Dr. Javier Mejia was born and raised in Colombia. He received his undergraduate and Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) from the Javeriana University in Bogota in 1990. After graduation from dental school, he began to practice and improve her skills until 1999 when he decided to move to the States. After successfully passed the National Dental Boards and all ADA requirements, he was licensed to practice in California in 2002. After several years practicing in the Southern California area, and when he start his own practice, he got involved in the Orthodontics field very seriously, after taking some continuing education courses, he got inspired to pursue higher education and to return to the Bosque University in his country of origin for 3 years of Orthodontic Specialty training, where he received a Masters Degree (MS) in Orthodontics.
Since Orthodontics became his profession and passion, he continues to further his knowledge in orthodontics, dentofacial orthotics, TMJ treatments and all new advances.
Dr. Mejia's expertise as a bi-lingual orthodontic specialist makes him a valuable member.
Dr. Mejia has been certified by the Dental Board of California. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the World Federation of Orthodontists. He is also a member of the California Dental Association, Orange County Dental Society, American Dental Association and American Dental Association. Dr. Mejia spends his free time with family and friends. He also enjoys music, reading, traveling and outdoor sports.
